Cuthbert Grant The Younger, The First Metis Leader, Was Born In1793 And Died In1854. By 1814, The Metis Had Already Identified Themselves As A Distinct "New Nation". Cuthbert Grant Had Emphasized This Fact In June, 1816 When He Unfurled The Flag Bearing A White Infinity Symbol On A Blue Background, Which Later Became The Metis National Flag. He Was The Founder Of Grantown; Leader Of Metis At The Battle Of Seven Oaks; And A Clerk In North West Company |
